Positive Behaviour for Learning

Positive Behaviour for Learning Tempe PS

PBL at Tempe Public School

Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) is a school-wide behaviour initiative. PBL encourages positive behaviour from students, which supports and nurtures students’ own personal development. At Tempe, our three core values are safe, respectful and responsible.

All staff members explicitly teach behaviour expectations, support positive behaviour, use the same language and follow consistent behaviour management procedures.

Our PBL signage supports students in making positive behaviour choices. Have a look around the school to learn more about the expectations for each area of the school!

Peaceful Kids

Peaceful Kids at Tempe Public School

The 'Peaceful Kids' program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program to lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children. This program helps children to build their emotional resilience so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses that life brings them. At Tempe, we run Peaceful Kids groups each term. Students can be nominated to join by their teacher or parent/carer.

Social Skills

Social Skills at Tempe Public School

Social Skills group helps students learn and practise the social and problem-solving skills they need to succeed at school and beyond. By explicitly teaching these skills in a supportive, structured setting, the group strengthens positive relationships, reduces inappropriate behaviour, and increases the time students can spend engaged in learning. This proactive approach supports contributes to a safe, inclusive environment that enhances both academic achievement and student wellbeing. Students can be nominated to join a social skills group by their teacher or parent/carer.
