Tempe Public School offers a quality education in a caring environment in Sydney's inner city.

Our school features modern refurbished classrooms and facilities together with lovely historical buildings. We are a fully networked school. Our students learn and grow in a modern environment supported by state-of-the art facilities and resources. Our classrooms have internet access, interactive whiteboards, modern computers and video conferencing equipment to enhance students' learning.

Our teachers are highly-experienced, dedicated and caring.

We strongly value academic excellence and we enthusiastically encourage all students to participate in a wide range of learning activities - cultural, sporting and social.

Our innovative educational programs follow the Board of Studies syllabuses in key learning areas including maths and English and extend right through to cultural and language studies, physical education and technology.

There are lots of great activities to choose from at Tempe - interschool sport, dance, drama, choir, band, debating, camps and lots of leadership opportunities. Participating in sport and fun physical activity is also a big part of primary education here at Tempe. Our students enjoy athletics, swimming, cross country and we participate in local, zone and even national sporting events.

Our facilities include; air-conditioned open plan classrooms and group learning spaces, a large, well-resourced library with lots lots of technology, computers in every classroom, a large hall/gymnasium and separate drama spaces, a healthy canteen, netball and basketball court, art and cooking areas, a large outdoor, shaded play area and a large oval.

We always work closely with our parents to provide the best possible education for all of our students. Our students learn important values respect and responsibility and we encourage all of our students to develop leadership skills, independence and confidence.

Everyone feels welcome and valued at Tempe.

Our school is a key part of our community and that is really important to us. We have strong links with Tempe High's Languages School and students have the opportunity to learn a wide range of cultures and languages other than English.

"It's been really beneficial for our children to be at a culturally diverse school where everybody is different. Because everybody's different, nobody's different.

"Parents can be as involved as they want to be in the school, from helping out in the library, helping with reading classes. Helping out in big ways or small ways, it's all appreciated."

(Rita McKinnon, parent)

"I'd recommend Tempe to other parents mainly because of the lovely community feeling that's here, the quality education programsand the grounds. It's a safe environment."
